USC completed rehabilitation of eight (8) Tertiary Settling Tanks at the Blue Plains WWTP.
The Project included:
- Installation of new flocculators, clarifier mechanisms and plate settlers
- Demolition of four (4) Tertiary Settling Tanks and replacement with ten (10) new Tertiary Filters including underdrain, media, troughs and pumps
- Rehabilitation of twelve (12) Tertiary Filters including underdrain, media and troughs
- Modifications to Building G1 for the new Operations and Maintenance Facilities, demolition of Activated Carbon System in Building G2 and replacement with a new Locker Room Facility
USC was required to handle, test and properly dispose of TPH contaminated soils. New steel H-piling for foundation support was also required in the execution of the work.
Incentive Bonuses were offered by the Owner for timely completion of Major Milestones. USC planned, scheduled and carried out the work efficiently to earn each of four bonuses made available.
This Project included stringent phasing and sequencing to accommodate plant effluent requirements during construction.
