USC completed the construction of a new, fully automated 6.7 MGD Sewage Pump Station.
The Project included:
- Three (3) 200 horsepower variable speed sewage pumps, seal water system, sump pumps, piping, valves and plumbing
- Separate 500 kW Standby Power Generator Building
- Installation of approximately 20,000 lineal feet of buried force main
- Buried water and sanitary sewer piping, ranging in size from 8-inch to 24-inch, including twenty-eight (28) manholes
The pipeline construction required:
- Six (6) bore and jacks ranging in size from 16-inch to 30-inch in diameter, with lengths from 80 feet to 655 feet
A number of stream crossings were required which were completed with care to mitigate environmental impacts. The buried pipelines were pressure tested and inspected by television to assure a proper and accurate installation. Restoration of disturbed areas was performed timely to comply with erosion control requirements.
The Pump Station and Generator Building were constructed of reinforced cast-in-place concrete, brick and block masonry, and steel beams with metal decking.
