This nutrient-removal project includes new aeration tanks, secondary clarifier, UV disinfection building, rotary drum thickening building, and alkalinity building as well as many support structures. Construction started in early 2015 and is rapidly moving forward. The depth of several structures, combined with their proximity to existing tanks, necessitated the implementation of support-of-excavation measures in select locations. Based on the soil characteristics, groundwater conditions, and schedule constraints, Ulliman Schutte selected steel sheet piling as the appropriate choice.

The many different work areas and activities on the site make it an ideal candidate for drone photography as demonstrated in the pictures below.

Did you know? Over 90% of Ulliman Schutte's projects occur on continually operating plants, requiring detailed planning and coordination to avoid disruption of treatment processes during construction.
