This project reduces storm water contribution to the combined sewer system, improving the sewer capacity, reducing potential for street and basement flooding, and lowering risk of sewage entrance into the Great Miami River. A new trunk storm sewer located within several residential neighborhoods and industrial areas facilitates stormwater collection and redirection to a surface water canal.

Construction of the corresponding pump station required an engineered temporary support system to suspend an existing large-diameter trunk sewer and duct bank. Construction of the station was further complicated by overhead high voltage transmission lines located directly above the site.
