Julia Kendall

Over the course of several working semesters (or quarters), our student employees learn about engineered construction of water quality infrastructure with the mentorship of their project team and industry leaders. This program also allows each student's aptitude, strengths, desires and career aspirations to be discovered. This two-way learning experience ultimately leads to a group of construction professionals who are ideally suited for our industry and our company and represent the "best of the best".

Best of Both Worlds

For Julia, her co-op experience with US allowed her to discover how she could use both her technical and creative sides. During a single co-op term, she worked alongside project leaders and engineers throughout the preconstruction process on Ulliman Schutte's largest project to-date – and she leveraged her artistic skills to lead community-focused events, such as a chalk art contest that awards scholarships to students-in-need.

Much like Julia, all our employees – especially our co-ops and interns – have direct access, input, and contributions to the action at the jobsite, providing the absolute best learning experience possible.

My role has allowed me to work with local community engagement initiatives and schools to spread the word of water conservation and sustainability all throughout the area.”
